Currently Wearing: 3Sixteen SL-100
These jeans are the current pair of denim that I am working on. I got them in August of last year from SelfEdge. Initially I thought they were bit a long but I've triple cuffed them and I really like the way they look now. The fades are really coming in nicely. This is the best denim that I have owned and I can definitely tell that in the fading. The fades have more of a blue tint to them than my previous pairs.I plan on going a whole year without washing them but that could change subject to odor problems. I've also already given them one soak to get the denim to shrink up a little bit.
These jeans have been to New York with me twice. In fact, I wore them on a road trip with my best friend Stephen and my lovely girlfriend Meredith from Charleston to Rye, New York. Other than New York they haven't really been anywhere besides Charleston and Columbia. However, they are about to go to Italy with me in 9 days. I will be stomping around in these all over Rome and maybe Tuscany, Florence and Venice. We shall see.So, now the journey finally begins where I will keep up with what I have done in my denim. Stay tuned.
Before the adventures start I thought it'd be cool to show what will be in my pockets all the time. Here is everything that will be on me: Iphone4,Billykirk Tri-fold wallet, flannel handkerchief,a scrimshaw, and a note from someone that is very dear to me.
So, it begins.......
Archives: Levi's 501 Shrink-To-Fit
I got these Levi's for Christmas in 2009. Whenever you buy Shrink-To-Fits you can either buy them one to two sizes to big and then soak them and they will shrink to your size or you can buy them true to size and never wash them. With this pair I chose the never wash route although I did get them taken in a little. I gave these a good 3 month run I'd say. Hence, why they're not that faded. They were quickly banished to my closet once I got my pair of 3sixteens. However, they are good jeans and I had some fun in them in that the snowstorm of February 2010. Other than that not much really happened in them.

Archives: A.P.C. New Cure
These jeans were the second pair of raw denim that I ever owned. I got them from the A.P.C. store on a trip to NYC in 2007. At the time I didn't think that they were tight enough for me so I got them tapered. Since then I had to flip these sonsabitches inside out every time I wanted to take them off. This resulted in me sleeping in them at times because it was such a pain in the ass to get them off. I definitely learned my lesson with this pair.
These jeans went with me on an epic trip to Canada with my two best buds Kyle and Stephen. I tried finding a good picture of the jeans in Canada but I couldn't come up with anything. They also went with me to see Beach House in Asheville, two more trips to NYC, and another trip to upstate New York. Overall, they were pretty good to me and I got a good 2 years out of em before flipping them inside out got on my nerves. R.I.P

Friends:Brandon's Levi 501 STF
For the first edition of "Friends" I'm lucky enough to have my friend Brandon Wilner as a guest. Brandon just got introduced to the world of raw denim when he received a pair of Levi 501 shrink to fits for Christmas. I'm glad he received the classic American jean as his first pair. Since Brandon hasn't even had his jeans for a month yet there's not a whole lot of wear going on. However, the harsh Chicago weather should change that rather quickly. Look for future posts of Brandon's jeans as he puts some wear into them. I'll leave you with a quote from Brandon when I asked him if he had done anything cool in his jeans yet and how often he was wearing them:
"I guess the coolest thing I have done in them so far is ride my bike, that's about it besides read and stuff. And I'd say I wear them three to four times a week."
Thanks Brandon!!
and P.S. those Red Wings are so dope!
Archives: Nudie Thin Finn
These are the first pair of raw denim jeans that I ever owned. I got them on March 2,2006 when I was a junior in high school.I wore them for 13 months before finally washing them. After that I wore them for another 7 months before finally retiring them for a pair of A.P.C New Cure's. These Nudies have been through thick and thin with me. They started the obsession with denim that still carries on today.
I have many memories in these jeans. For instance, the holes in the knees came from attempting to ollie a three stair near Bates West my freshmen year in college. Also, I kept a ton of ticket stubs and other random things in my back left pocket. I thought it was pretty cool how the indigo bled into all the ticket stubs, etc. The stuff in that pocket is like a yearbook of sorts for 2 years of my life.
I will hold onto these jeans forever. Hopefully, one day they will be hanging on the wall in my store. R.I.P Thin Finns. You were good to me.
